GRATEFUL
TO BE SENT
The speech at the Launching Ceremony of Br. Luong Thanh Tung,
C.Ss.R.
Dear superiors, Venerables and religious dignitaries. Dear
representatives of the government of all levels, dear faithful of different
religions present in the city hall today, as well as watching online.
I am a Redemptorist brother, and on behalf of my religious brothers
and sisters who volunteer to serve the patients of Covid-19, I would like to
express my thought and feelings.
First, we want to express the joy of serving the patients, those
who are suffering because, as Saint Paul the apostle said in the Scripture:
Those who give joyfully are loved by God.
We also want to say a little bit of nervousness mixed with anxiety
because we all know how the Covid-19 epidemic has raged and how much harm it
has done to our people in this city.
Third, I want to express my gratitude, especially toward the
doctors and volunteers on the front lines. Not a day goes by that I don't see
the images of the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the epidemic centre. And I
am touched as well as having love and admiration for such people. In prayer, in
the daily Mass, we pray for those people.
We also want to express our gratitude to Archbishop Joseph, members
of the diocesan religious committee, our superiors and the city government for
creating all the conditions and giving us the opportunity to serve God by
serving the sick during the covid pandemic.
We would like to wish all of you full of joy and blessings from
heaven. May our sacrifices, efforts and loving-kindness reap good fruits. I
wholeheartedly thank you to all of you.
